The Korean salary lib keeps the 2025 progressive brackets, KRW 130,000 standard tax credit, national pension, health insurance, long-term care, and employment insurance rates. This English calculator calls the Korean page feature lib directly. The UI is translated, but the numbers come from the same pure calculation path instead of a generic value-times-rate stub.

Salary calculator

This English salary guide translates the Korean net-pay article and keeps the real salary lib for earned-income deduction, personal deductions, four social insurances, income tax, local income tax, and monthly take-home pay.

Gross salary versus actual take-home pay

A Korean annual salary offer is not the amount deposited into the employee account. The calculator subtracts national pension, health insurance, long-term care insurance, employment insurance, income tax, and local income tax before showing monthly net pay.

The Korean salary lib uses the 2025 progressive brackets from 6 percent to 45 percent and applies the earned-income deduction before personal deductions and special deductions. That prevents the English page from using a flat percentage estimate.

Four social insurance rates

The employee-side rates preserved in the lib include national pension at 4.5 percent, health insurance at 3.545 percent, long-term care insurance as 6.475 percent of the health-insurance contribution, and employment insurance at 0.9 percent.

National pension and employment insurance can have base ceilings, so the insurance total does not always rise linearly with salary. The result separates social insurance from income tax because payroll planning, loan review, and job-offer comparison often need both numbers.

Deductions and planning

The guide keeps spouse, child, parent, senior, disabled, pension saving, personal IRP, insurance, medical, education, donation, and standard deduction inputs. The standard tax credit of KRW 130,000 is part of the salary calculation path.

Use this calculator before comparing offers, negotiating salary, switching jobs, or planning year-end settlement. The best comparison is monthly net salary after insurance and tax, not gross annual pay alone.
