Korea wage converter calculator guide

This English page translates the Korean wage converter and calls convertWage, calculateDeductions, and validateMinimumWage. It preserves hourly, daily, weekly, monthly, yearly conversion, weekly holiday allowance, 209 monthly hours, payroll deductions, and the source minimum-wage validation.

Conversion directions

The Korean wage converter supports hourly, daily, monthly, and yearly input types. It converts the entered amount into hourly, daily, weekly, monthly, and yearly values using daily hours, weekly work days, weekly-holiday inclusion, and monthly work-hour assumptions.

When starting from hourly wage, daily wage is hourly wage times daily hours, weekly wage is daily wage times weekly days plus weekly-holiday pay when included, monthly wage is hourly wage times total monthly hours, and yearly wage is monthly wage times 12.

Weekly holiday hours and 209-hour month

Weekly holiday hours are generated only when weekly work hours are at least 15. The Korean source formula is weekly work hours divided by 40 times 8, capped at 8 hours.

Total monthly hours use weeks per month from the utility constants and can include or exclude weekly holiday hours. The 209-hour monthly standard is retained in the constants and shown in the Korean content as the standard full-time reference.

Deductions and net salary

When deductions are included, calculateDeductions estimates National Pension, Health Insurance, long-term care, employment insurance, income tax, local income tax, total deduction, net salary, and deduction rate.

The utility constants preserve employee-side rates such as National Pension 4.5%, Health Insurance 3.545%, long-term care as 12.95% of Health Insurance, and employment insurance 0.9%. Monthly non-taxable pay reduces the taxable base used for the payroll estimate.

Minimum-wage validation

validateMinimumWage compares the converted hourly wage with the wage-converter module source constant. The wage-converter module currently uses its own 2026 minimum-wage constant of KRW 10,030 and 209 monthly hours; because this page reuses the same module, English results remain identical to Korean results.

Actual statutory minimum wage, payroll withholding, tax tables, and insurance ceilings can change. The calculator should be updated through the shared Korean utility constants so both Korean and English pages move together.
