Korean vehicle delivery and carrier consignment cost

This English guide follows the Korean calculator logic and preserves the Korean rates, thresholds, vehicle classifications, and administrative assumptions used by the source page.

Road delivery versus carrier consignment

The Korean model compares road delivery, where a driver moves the vehicle, with carrier consignment, where the vehicle is loaded on a carrier. Road delivery starts with a KRW 13,000 base fare for up to 10 km and then uses tiered per-kilometer rates. Carrier consignment is modeled as 1.7 times the road base with a KRW 65,000 minimum fare.

Vehicle type adjusts the fare. Light cars, compact or midsize cars, large sedans, SUVs, imported or premium cars, and vans use different multipliers. Round-trip dispatch multiplies the base by 1.8 when the driver or equipment must return.

  • The fare range uses the Korean source range rate around the computed total.
  • Night, urgent, weekend, island, and weather surcharges are kept as separate options.
  • Urgent dispatch can add 30 percent, while island or ferry movement can also add 30 percent.

Self-drive comparison

The self-drive comparison uses fuel efficiency, fuel price, toll-per-kilometer, average speed, and hourly time value. This is useful when deciding whether direct driving is economically lower than paying a carrier or road-delivery operator.

The model is still an estimate. Real quotes can vary by pickup time, vehicle condition, insurance responsibility, loading availability, ferry reservation, and whether the operator documents exterior condition before handover.
