This calculator estimates monthly cost for major Amazon Web Services resources. The source page covers 8 core services such as EC2, S3, RDS, and Lambda, then explains region differences, Free Tier benefits, and long-term commitment discounts.

It is intended for startup MVP budgeting, DevOps cost optimization, cloud migration estimates, project planning, and SI consulting proposals. The price references are the public February 2026 assumptions from the Korean page and should be checked against current AWS pricing before purchase decisions.

AWS pricing structure

Pay-as-you-go

  • EC2 compute is charged by instance running time, with second-level billing support for many instance types.
  • S3 is charged by stored GB-month plus request counts such as PUT and GET.
  • RDS combines instance hours and storage GB-month.
  • Lambda charges by request count and execution time measured in GB-seconds, so idle time does not create compute cost.

Reserved, Savings Plans, and Free Tier

  • One-year commitments can reduce cost by about 30% to 40%, and three-year commitments by about 50% to 60%.
  • Reserved Instances are tied to a specific instance type, while Savings Plans commit to hourly spend more flexibly.

EC2, S3, and Lambda examples

  • In us-east-1 on-demand pricing, t3.micro is USD 0.0104 per hour, about USD 7.60 per month; t3.medium is USD 0.0416 per hour, about USD 30.37 per month.
  • m6i.large is USD 0.0960 per hour, about USD 70.08 per month, and c7g.large is USD 0.0723 per hour, about USD 52.78 per month.
  • S3 storage ranges from Standard USD 0.023 per GB to Glacier Deep Archive USD 0.00099 per GB in the source example.
  • Graviton instances such as t4g, m7g, and c7g can be about 20% cheaper than comparable x86 instances while delivering similar or better performance for many Linux workloads.

Common architecture scenarios

  • A startup MVP with one t3.small instance, RDS db.t3.micro, S3 50 GB, and CloudFront 100 GB can start around USD 50 to 70 per month, less during the first 12 months if Free Tier applies.
  • A small or medium web service using two m6i.large instances, RDS m6i.large, ALB, and S3 500 GB is estimated around USD 400 to 500 per month, or USD 270 to 350 per month with a one-year Reserved Instance strategy.
  • Right-sizing with AWS Compute Optimizer can cut 20% to 40% when oversized instances are reduced by one class.
  • S3 lifecycle rules can move data to Standard-IA after 30 days and Glacier after 90 days, reducing storage cost by about 50% to 80% for cold data.
  • Seoul region ap-northeast-2 is about 10% to 15% more expensive than us-east-1 in the source FAQ, but gives lower latency for Korean users.
