Find a room combination that fits the whole family

The lowest advertised room rate does not necessarily produce the lowest family booking cost.
Six travelers may need very different room combinations depending on their ages, included occupancy, maximum occupancy and available inventory.
Bedding, breakfast and extra-person charges can also change the final bill.

This calculator allocates adults and children to the room types you enter and finds the minimum total cost that meets the supported constraints.
Adults receive numbered IDs; children receive numbered IDs with their ages so you can review and share the allocation.
Use the result to establish the accommodation portion of your travel budget, then reconfirm the proposed booking with the property.

Match the quote conditions before comparing

The supported range is 20 guests, 10 room types and 1–30 nights.
Within that range, the solver compares feasible allocation states to find the exact minimum under the entered rules.
This does not establish the lowest price on the market or guarantee availability, family preferences or a completed reservation.

Enter actual adults and every child age

Enter the number of accompanying adults and each child age at check-in.
With a maximum child-rate age of 12, a 12-year-old uses the child rate and a 13-year-old uses the adult rate.
That cutoff is fictional in the example, not a universal hotel policy.
Confirm both the age threshold and the date used to determine age with the property.

Every child and infant occupies one place in the maximum capacity.
A free rate does not automatically mean exclusion from occupancy.
Infant occupancy exemptions, multiple age-rate bands and composition-specific packages are unsupported.
The tool also does not know family relationships, so review whether each child is with the intended adult before using the plan.

Read these fields from the property quote

• Included guests and maximum occupancy: included guests determine when extra-person charges begin; maximum occupancy limits everyone assigned to the room.
  Included guests and individual adult/child caps cannot exceed total capacity.
  
• Adult and child limits: the adult cap applies to actual adults, while the child cap includes all children, including those paying adult rates.
  The overall room capacity is checked separately.
  
• Base and extra-person rates: enter the base price for one room for one night and each excess-person rate per night.
  Check whether extra-person charges already include bedding before adding it again.
  
• Fixed room and common fees: fixed room fees apply once per selected room for the entire stay; common fees apply once to the trip.
  A cost that varies with allocation must not be treated as a common fixed fee.
  

Kitchen and accessibility checkboxes record facilities you have verified.
A required feature applies to every selected room, which differs from needing just one accessible room.
Confirm the specific doorway, bathroom, lift, bed-height or other requirements yourself; the tool does not assess or certify accessibility.

The room-cost formula

In a room with two included guests, two adults and one child generate one child extra.
One adult and two children also generate one child extra because the adult and one child use the included places.
A property that charges all children independently of included occupancy, or assigns included places differently, does not match this formula.

The solver never exceeds room inventory or assigns a person twice.
If several combinations have the same minimum cost, it prefers fewer rooms; remaining ties follow input order.
It returns one optimal allocation, not an exhaustive list of all equal-price plans.

How to calculate and confirm a quote

1. Enter actual adults, every child age and the verified child-rate cutoff.
   
2. Set the check-in date and nights, then enter every quote in one currency.
   Changing the currency label does not perform conversion; replace the amounts with matching quotes.
   
3. Add each room type with full-stay inventory, occupancy limits, rates, fees and facilities.
   
4. Add omitted fees only once and record when the quote was checked and how long it remains valid.
   Check the confirmation only after verifying the supported policy and the inventory.
   
5. Calculate, inspect the assignments and cost breakdown, then save the TXT review sheet.
   Editing any input hides the old result until you calculate again.
   

A quote is labeled user-confirmed only when it includes a timestamp, a validity note and the confirmation check.
Otherwise, the calculation remains a fictional or unconfirmed scenario.
The tool does not verify the property, reserve inventory or automatically check whether the quote has expired.
Refresh the inputs immediately before booking.

Worked example: six guests for two nights

The fictional party contains four adults and children aged 5 and 10, with a child-rate cutoff of 12.
Room A has two available units, two included guests and capacity for three; its nightly base is KRW 120,000, with extra adult-rate guests at KRW 30,000 and child-rate guests at KRW 15,000.
Room B has one available unit, four included guests and capacity for six; its base is KRW 240,000, with extras at KRW 30,000 and KRW 10,000 respectively.
Both offer a kitchen, neither has a fixed room fee, and the common fee is KRW 20,000.

Although A has the lower base rate, one B room costs KRW 20,000 less overall.
If a kitchen is required but B lacks one, the solver excludes B and selects two A rooms instead.
These amounts and policies illustrate the model; they are not a real property tariff.

Understand why a combination is impossible

An impossible result means there is no solution among your current candidates.
Different dates or newly confirmed inventory can change that result.
A successful result with unused occupancy still does not establish how many beds exist or how they are arranged.

Use the plan for multigenerational and group travel

When traveling with older parents and children, decide on essential facilities before minimizing cost.
Requiring a kitchen in every room can help align accommodation and meal planning.
Where accessibility matters, verify steps, doorways and bathroom layouts before marking a room as eligible.
An inexpensive room that cannot meet the actual needs of the traveler is not a useful option.

Several related families can use the minimum total as a budgeting reference, then review the numbered guest assignments.
The model does not preserve parents and children as a family unit.
If certain people must share a room, or connecting rooms are essential, request a separate confirmed quote for that arrangement instead of treating the computed minimum as the final plan.

Currency precision and avoiding omitted charges

• KRW and JPY use whole units; USD and EUR allow two decimal places.
  All inputs share one currency, with no inferred tax rate or exchange rate.
  
• If nightly base rates vary, use total base cost divided by nights only when it is exactly representable at the supported currency precision.
  Otherwise ask the property for an appropriate average rate or fixed-fee breakdown rather than silently rounding the quote.
  
• A confirmed free item may be entered as zero; an unknown charge should not be assumed free.
  For meals or bedding that depend on guest allocation, check whether the entered extra-person rates already cover them.
  
• Refundable and nonrefundable offers differ beyond price.
  Cancellation fees, refunds, coupons, membership discounts and combination-specific promotions are not optimized automatically; compare final quotes on equivalent terms.
