This page translates the Korean cholecystectomy guide and preserves the same laparoscopic, single-port, robotic, open, acute cholecystitis, common bile duct stone, ERCP, emergency, room, indemnity, and tax-credit logic.

Method fee and acute severity

Laparoscopic cholecystectomy uses a KRW 2,200,000 covered fee and 3 default stay days. Single-port laparoscopy uses KRW 2,600,000 and 3 days. Open cholecystectomy uses KRW 1,900,000 and 5 days. Robotic cholecystectomy keeps the KRW 2,200,000 covered base but adds a non-covered robotic surcharge, modeled at KRW 6,000,000 with a range of KRW 5,000,000 to KRW 9,000,000.

Severity is preserved from the Korean model: simple cases use multiplier 1.0 and 3 days, acute cholecystitis uses 1.2 and 5 days, and severe cases with perforation, abscess, or bile duct issues use 1.5 and 7 days.

CBD stone and emergency add-ons

When common bile duct stone is selected, ERCP is added as a KRW 1,800,000 covered full fee. ER route adds KRW 50,000, KRW 100,000, or KRW 150,000 depending on institution level, and night or holiday emergency surgery applies the same 30 percent surcharge used in the source model.

PCA pain control is KRW 100,000 to KRW 200,000, adhesion barrier is KRW 150,000 to KRW 400,000, and upper-room daily surcharge is KRW 120,000 at clinics, KRW 170,000 at general hospitals, and KRW 250,000 at tertiary hospitals.

Insurance reading

Adult inpatient covered charges use a 20 percent copay, and children aged 15 or younger use 5 percent. The English calculator keeps Korean indemnity generation parameters instead of replacing them with a flat reimbursement assumption.

Robotic use, adhesion barrier, PCA, and room upgrade are the main reasons a gallbladder estimate can rise above the covered surgery copay.
