Private insurance generation rules

Manual therapy annual limit is KRW 3,500,000 and 50 sessions for generations 3 and 4 in the Korean private-insurance model. The calculator also applies the 50-session rule before calculating payout.

MRI annual limit is KRW 3,000,000 for generations 3 and 4. Generation 3 uses 30 percent self-pay with a KRW 20,000 minimum deductible for manual therapy, while generation 4 uses a KRW 30,000 minimum deductible.

Generation 5 unified annual limit is KRW 10,000,000 with 50 percent self-pay in the modeled 2026 rule set. It pools non-covered manual therapy, MRI, CT, and other non-covered items into one unified limit in this calculator.

Price basis

Lumbar MRI average non-covered price is KRW 500,000 in the source table, and manual therapy average price is KRW 90,000 per session. CT uses separate body-part tables, so a brain CT and an abdominal CT do not share one flat price.

The result shows gross non-covered cost, private insurance payout, self-pay, coverage rate, tax credit reference, and generation comparison. The same treatment can produce very different self-pay amounts depending on insurance generation.
