After private insurance, before tax

₩346,000

The source keeps two different copay concepts: cancer resection can receive 5% special-case treatment, but breast reconstruction after total mastectomy is covered at ordinary inpatient copay, generally 20%. Reconstruction after breast-conserving surgery is modeled as non-covered.

This page translates the Korean breast-cancer reconstruction guide and preserves the same mastectomy, sentinel-node, reconstruction, implant or autologous method, special-case, inpatient, upper-room, indemnity, copay-ceiling, and tax-credit calculations.

Cancer surgery and reconstruction coverage

The Korean source separates cancer resection from reconstruction. Breast cancer surgery under special-case registration is modeled at a 5 percent copay for eligible cancer treatment, while ordinary reconstruction-related inpatient covered charges use a 20 percent copay.

Breast reconstruction after mastectomy has been covered in Korea since April 2015. The Korean guide keeps breast-conserving-surgery reconstruction as non-covered in the model, so the English calculator preserves that distinction instead of treating every reconstruction as covered.

Implant, autologous, and timing choices

The calculator keeps mastectomy type, sentinel lymph-node biopsy, reconstruction method, immediate versus delayed timing, hospital type, room type, upper-room days, other non-covered cost, indemnity generation, income decile, and salary.

Implant reconstruction and autologous reconstruction can create different operating time, admission, material, and revision-risk patterns. The estimate is meant to expose covered self-pay, non-covered cost, reimbursement, and copay-ceiling effect separately.

Copay ceiling and household budget

The Korean model keeps copay-ceiling refund thresholds by income decile, including KRW 870,000 for the 1st income decile, KRW 1,080,000, KRW 1,670,000, KRW 3,130,000, KRW 4,280,000, KRW 5,140,000, and KRW 8,080,000 for higher deciles.

The page should be read as a cash-flow estimate for treatment and reconstruction. Stage, adjuvant chemotherapy, radiation, targeted therapy, endocrine therapy, lymphedema care, and revision surgery may add costs outside the reconstruction calculator.
