Calls calculateCancerInsuranceCoverage with Korean incidence by age and gender, smoking and family-history multipliers, diagnosis benefit categories, renewal comparison, premium-to-income ratio, and indemnity-insurance overlap notes. This English finance calculator calls the same Korean pure calculation module as the Korean page. KRW amounts, Korean thresholds, insurance rules, tax logic, and scenario assumptions are preserved instead of the old generic percentage stub.

Cancer insurance coverage guide

This English guide translates the Korean cancer insurance coverage calculator. The calculator calls calculateCancerInsuranceCoverage and keeps the Korean risk, diagnosis benefit, premium adequacy, renewal, and indemnity-overlap logic.

Risk and recommended coverage

The Korean model estimates age and gender cancer incidence per 100,000 people, then adjusts the risk score for smoker status and family history. It does not use one flat cancer probability for every household.

Recommended coverage is split into general cancer diagnosis, minor cancer diagnosis, major cancer diagnosis, surgery benefit, hospitalization daily benefit, and chemotherapy benefit. The result then compares each item with the existing coverage gap.

Premium and renewal comparison

The page keeps renewable and non-renewable policy comparison because a renewable policy can start cheaper and later become expensive. The calculator displays crossover age when cumulative premiums can invert.

Premium adequacy is checked against monthly income in manwon units. The result labels the income ratio as optimal, caution, or excessive, so a coverage upgrade is not recommended without checking affordability.

Indemnity overlap

The Korean content also checks private health insurance overlap. A cancer diagnosis benefit is different from indemnity medical reimbursement, but surgery, hospitalization, and treatment costs can overlap with indemnity coverage.

The coverage grade and recommendation list should be read by category. A household may need major cancer benefit more urgently than minor cancer benefit, or may need premium reduction if current coverage is already sufficient.
