Gas bill calculator guide

This English page translates the Korean gas bill calculator and calls calculateGasBill, generateMonthlyComparison, calculateYearlyEstimate, and calculateWelfareComparison. It preserves PRESSURE_CORRECTION_FACTOR, AVERAGE_HEAT_VALUE, regional provider unit price, base fee, usage charge, winter welfare discount, VAT 10%, m3 to MJ conversion, seasonal monthly usage multipliers, and 10-won rounding.

Volume to heat conversion

The input is monthly gas volume in cubic meters. The source converts it into heat usage with pressure correction and average heat value, then multiplies heat usage by the selected provider unit price.

Provider selection matters because Seoul City Gas, Ko-One Energy Service, Yesco, Samchully, Busan City Gas, and national average values can have different unit prices and base fees.

VAT and welfare discount

Subtotal is base fee plus usage charge minus welfare discount. VAT 10% is then added, and the final amount is floored to the nearest 10 won.

The welfare discount can differ between normal periods and winter. The monthly forecast helper applies the month-specific winter flag rather than using only the current month.

Yearly estimate

The yearly estimate applies monthly usage multipliers to the base usage. Winter months receive higher use, summer months lower use, and every month is run through the same provider and discount model.

Actual gas bills can include meter correction, regional retail changes, cooking versus heating mix, apartment allocation, and billing-cycle length. The calculator should be used as an estimate before payment.
