Progressive residential tiers

Normal season uses 200 kWh and 400 kWh boundaries. Summer, July to August, relaxes the boundaries to 300 kWh and 450 kWh. Each tier has a base fee and an energy unit price.

The energy charge is calculated tier by tier, then the base fee for the highest applied tier is added. This is why moving from 399 kWh to 401 kWh can change both energy charge and base fee behavior.

Discounts and add-on charges

Welfare discounts are calculated from the energy charge and capped by type. The essential-use deduction subtracts KRW 4,000 when usage is at or below 200 kWh and the deduction is enabled.

The subtotal then receives VAT 10% and the electric-industry fund at 3.7%. The final amount is floored to the nearest 10 won, matching the Korean calculator.

Monthly and yearly estimate

The yearly estimate uses the monthly comparison helper. Summer months assume higher usage, then each month is run through the same calculateElectricityBill function rather than a shortcut average.

Actual bills can include contract type, fuel adjustment, climate environment charge, apartment management allocation, and meter-reading timing, so official bills should be checked for payment.
