Monthly-equivalent conversion

The Korean library converts monthly subscriptions at face value, yearly subscriptions by dividing by 12, and weekly subscriptions by multiplying by 4.33. This lets OTT, music, cloud, shopping, reading, game, and other subscriptions be compared on one monthly basis.

The yearly total is the monthly equivalent multiplied by 12. This is materially different from adding only the recurring monthly bills and forgetting annual renewals.

Cost per use and savings estimate

Usage frequency is converted into expected monthly uses: daily 30, frequent 14, occasional 6, and rarely 2. Cost per use is monthly equivalent divided by that use count.

The Korean source marks a subscription as poor value when cost per use is KRW 5,000 or higher, then estimates the possible monthly saving if that service is cancelled.

Family sharing

For services with more than one family member, the page reports cost per person. This is important for premium OTT, cloud, music, and shopping plans where a higher gross price can still be cheaper per person.
