Korea Marriage Agency Fee Comparison Calculator

Compare two or three Korean marriage-agency quotes using membership fees, contract periods, included and extra introductions, mandatory add-ons, conditional success fees, and user-defined probability scenarios.

Editable demonstration quotes

The displayed amounts and probabilities only demonstrate the model. They are not company prices or market success rates. Replace them with VAT-inclusive amounts and mandatory charges from the actual Korean contract.

How to read the weighted value

Expected cost equals the no-success total plus the success fee multiplied by your scenario probability. It does not forecast success. Switching the probability between 0% and 100% shows the contractual cost range.

Check these items in the contract separately

Article 10 of Korea’s Marriage Brokers Business Management Act, effective July 1, 2026, requires the contract to address fees, cancellation refunds, liability, service contents, delivery method, period, and timing. This calculator does not decide a refund or whether a success fee is legally due.

Why Korean marriage-agency quotes need normalization

A Korean matchmaking quote is rarely just one membership-fee number. One plan may charge a lower signup fee but add a fee after the included introductions are used. Another may bill separately for profile photography, image consulting, coaching, verification, or events. Some contracts also trigger a separate success fee when the contract definition of a successful match is met.

This calculator does not publish company rankings, market-average prices, or advertised success rates. It lets you enter two or three real quotes and place them on the same scope: committed cost, extra-introduction cost, cost without a success fee, cost with the full success fee, and a probability-weighted scenario. The editable defaults are fictional test values, not representative 2026 prices.

Four rules for a fair comparison

  • Replace every demonstration amount with an actual contract quote
  • Use VAT-inclusive payment amounts and include every mandatory add-on
  • Treat the probability as your sensitivity assumption, not a company success rate
  • Keep service quality and contract protection separate from the cost rank

What each quote input means

Use the final written or electronic contract rather than a verbal consultation summary. If VAT is quoted separately, convert the amount to what you will actually pay. If an item is presented as optional but is required before introductions can begin, include it in mandatory add-ons.

Membership fee

Enter the full membership, registration, or tier fee committed at signup. If it is paid in installments, enter the total contract amount rather than one installment.

Contract period

Enter the service period in months. Check separately whether pauses stop the clock, whether the plan renews automatically, and whether an extension has another fee.

Included and planned introductions

Included introductions are those provided without an extra per-introduction charge. Planned introductions are the realistic number you expect to use during the contract.

Fee per extra introduction

This applies only when planned introductions exceed the included count. Confirm whether a profile delivery, acceptance, scheduled meeting, or completed meeting consumes one count.

Mandatory profile and add-on cost

Combine required photography, image consulting, coaching, verification, event, or setup charges that are not already included in the membership fee.

Conditional success fee and probability

Enter the fixed amount triggered by the contract definition of success. The probability is a user-controlled cost scenario and does not predict a relationship or marriage.

Cost formulas used by the calculator

The model first separates costs committed at signup from the success fee. Unused included introductions are not converted into a cash refund because that result depends on the actual contract and cancellation circumstances.

1. Committed and extra-introduction cost

Base committed cost = membership fee + mandatory add-ons

Extra count = max(planned introductions - included introductions, 0)

Extra-introduction cost = extra count × fee per extra introduction

2. No-success, success, and weighted totals

No-success total = base committed cost + extra-introduction cost

Success total = no-success total + success fee

Expected total = no-success total + round(success fee × probability ÷ 100)

3. Monthly and per-introduction normalization

Monthly equivalent = round(expected total ÷ contract months)

Cost per planned introduction = round(expected total ÷ planned introductions)

When planned introductions are zero, the per-introduction result is N/A rather than infinity. This metric normalizes money only; it does not assign a value to a person or measure the quality of a meeting.

Step-by-step workflow

  1. Rename Quote A, B, and C, then enter the full membership fee and mandatory add-ons from each quote.
  2. Enter the contract period, the included introduction count, and the realistic number you plan to use.
  3. If planned introductions can exceed the included count, enter the contractual fee for each additional introduction.
  4. Enter the fixed success fee and choose a 0% to 100% sensitivity scenario for that conditional cost.
  5. Read the no-success and full-success totals before comparing the weighted total, monthly equivalent, and per-introduction figure.
  6. Repeat at 0%, 50%, and 100%, then review cancellation, pause, extension, liability, and success-trigger wording outside the formula.

Worked example with three fictional quotes

These values reproduce the deterministic test vector. They are not quotes from real Korean marriage agencies. Quote A has a lower membership fee but both extra-introduction and success charges. Quote C has a higher committed amount and no success fee.

Reading the result

Quote A has the lowest weighted total at KRW 4,300,000, and the spread to Quote C is KRW 2,200,000. Quote C still has a monthly equivalent of about KRW 361,111 because its contract is longer, while Quote B is KRW 450,000 per month. Total cost, time, and planned usage answer different questions, so they should be reviewed together.

The probability is a sensitivity input, not a forecast

Success is not a repeatable identical event, and agencies may define or count success differently. The field therefore does not reproduce an advertised rate or predict whether a user will marry. It controls only how much of the conditional fee is included in a planning scenario.

0%

Expected cost equals the no-success total. This is the lower contractual cost scenario before any success fee.

50%

Half of the success fee is weighted into the result. This is a midpoint sensitivity case, not a probability claim.

100%

Expected cost equals the full-success total. This is the upper contractual cost scenario when the whole fee is triggered.

Korea-specific contract and advertising checks

The governing source checked on August 3, 2026 was Korea’s Marriage Brokerage Act, Law ID 010586 and current MST 281951, effective July 1, 2026. Article 10 requires a domestic marriage broker taking fees to contract in writing or electronically and explain the terms. The contract must address fees, cancellation or termination refunds, liability, service contents, delivery method, period, and timing.

Review outside the calculator

  • The domestic-business report number and the legal contracting party
  • The exact event that consumes one introduction
  • Contract duration, pause limits, clock-stopping treatment, and extension charges
  • The contractual trigger for a success fee, such as dating, engagement, or marriage registration
  • Refund and deduction treatment by business or consumer responsibility
  • Liability when a profile is inaccurate, a manager changes, or promised service is not delivered

Article 12 prohibits false or exaggerated advertising and false information, and requires the relevant report or registration number in advertising. Do not copy an undefined advertised success rate into the calculator. Use amounts you can verify in the contract and run your own conservative scenarios. This page does not decide contract legality, refund entitlement, damages, or whether a success fee is enforceable.

Practical scenarios and limits

Low membership fee, high overage cost

A plan with few included introductions can look inexpensive until realistic usage is entered. Compare one case that stays within the allowance and another with two or three additional introductions.

Fixed-price plan with no success fee

If the success fee is zero, changing the probability does not change expected cost. You still need to confirm whether photography, events, rematching, and extensions are inside the fixed price.

Time-based or unlimited-introduction plan

Even an unlimited plan has a finite practical number of meetings because of scheduling, preferences, pauses, and mutual acceptance. Enter a realistic planned count and treat the per-introduction figure only as a financial normalization metric.

Cancellation refunds are intentionally outside the formula

A refund can depend on timing, responsibility, services already delivered, the written terms, and the current consumer-dispute framework. A generic refund percentage could be misleading, so this version compares the pre-signup cost range only. For a cancellation dispute, keep the contract, payment records, and service history and use an official consumer-advice channel or qualified legal advice.

Frequently asked questions

Are the default fees 2026 Korean market averages?

No. They are fictional values used to demonstrate and test the formulas. Replace them with VAT-inclusive amounts and mandatory charges from the final quote.

Should I enter the success rate advertised by an agency?

Not unless its definition, denominator, period, and exclusions are independently comparable. The safer use is to test 0%, a midpoint, and 100% as cost-sensitivity cases.

Does an unused introduction automatically create a refund?

The calculator does not make that assumption. Refund and deduction treatment must be checked against the actual termination clause, delivered services, and current dispute rules.

How do I enter a percentage-based success fee?

This release models a fixed KRW fee. Convert the percentage into a fixed amount for a defined scenario, then rerun the calculator with lower and higher amounts.

Is the lowest-cost quote the best agency?

No. The rank covers only the entered money. Member fit, profile accuracy, privacy, manager quality, cancellation terms, and service delivery require separate review.

Is this legal advice about a Korean contract?

No. The legal references explain what to check. The calculator does not decide a refund, damages, regulatory compliance, or whether a success fee is payable.

Official sources and update boundary

Sources were checked on August 3, 2026. No official average price or statutory success rate is embedded. Recheck this guidance if the Act, standard contract, or consumer-dispute rules change.

Replace the examples with your written quotes

Enter the membership fee, included introductions, overage charge, mandatory add-ons, and success fee on the same scope. Compare both the 0% and 100% cost cases, then review refund, service-delivery, and success-trigger wording before signing.
