Emergency management fee

Regional and specialized emergency center management fee is KRW 66,000 in the Korean source. Local emergency medical center management fee is KRW 56,000, and a local emergency medical agency uses KRW 21,000.

When the visit is recognized as emergency-level care, the management fee is subject to the normal copay rate by facility grade and insurance type. When the case is non-emergency, the management fee can become 100 percent self-pay.

Penalty logic

From September 13, 2024 mild or non-emergency visits can carry a 90 percent self-pay rate in specified emergency centers. The calculator compares the selected classification with an emergency-recognized scenario so the penalty amount is visible.

Night, weekend, and holiday visits add a 50 percent surcharge to the emergency consultation fee. Treatment scale then adds testing, imaging, or emergency procedure cost before the relevant self-pay rate is applied.

Practical interpretation

The result separates management self-pay, treatment self-pay, total covered amount, penalty, and tax-credit reference. It is useful for understanding why a mild symptom visit to a higher-level emergency center can be expensive.

Actual KTAS classification is determined by medical staff, not by the patient. Use the estimate with the hospital receipt, diagnosis, emergency classification, private insurance terms, and any medical-aid or reduced-copay status.
