LTC grade and self-pay simulator

This English page translates the Korean long-term-care grade and self-pay guide for physical function, cognitive function, behavioral symptoms, nursing care, rehabilitation, dementia diagnosis, home-care benefit, facility benefit, reduction type, and long-term projection.

Grade and score basis

The Korean model weights physical function at 35 points, cognitive function at 20 points, behavioral change at 15 points, nursing care at 15 points, and rehabilitation at 15 points. The total score is then mapped to grade 1, 2, 3, 4, 5, cognitive-support grade, or grade-out.

LTC grade 1 monthly home-care limit is KRW 2,512,900, grade 2 is KRW 2,331,200, grade 3 is KRW 1,528,200, grade 4 is KRW 1,409,700, grade 5 is KRW 1,208,900, and cognitive-support grade is KRW 676,320.

Self-pay and facility basis

Home-care copay rate is 15 percent and facility copay rate is 20 percent for a general beneficiary. Reduction 1 lowers those rates to 9 percent and 12 percent, reduction 2 lowers them to 6 percent and 8 percent, and exempt status lowers them to zero.

Nursing home grade 1 daily rate is KRW 84,240 and nursing home grade 3 daily rate is KRW 73,800 in the source table. Group homes and nursing hospitals use their own daily or monthly assumptions, so they are not treated as the same facility type.

Application context

The result includes estimated score, grade, home-care copay, facility monthly cost, nursing-hospital comparison, five-year projection, warnings, and application guide. It is a self-check simulator, not an official National Health Insurance Service grade decision.

Actual grade requires an application, recognition survey, physician opinion, and grade committee decision. Use the estimate with care-manager consultation, dementia documentation, reduction eligibility, and facility quote.
