Nursing home and nursing hospital cost calculator

This page translates the Korean long-term-care facility guide for nursing homes, group homes, nursing hospitals, care grades, room type, meal copay, uncovered services, reduction category, and home-care comparison.

Benefit and copay structure

The nursing home daily rate for a large level 3 facility is KRW 81,540 in the Korean long-term-care source. The calculator applies care grade, facility size, facility type, and room selection before converting the daily rate into monthly and annual planning totals.

Facility benefit copay is 20 percent, reduced to 12 percent or 8 percent for reduction groups. Exempt or Medical Aid cases are modeled separately so the English page does not flatten long-term-care support into one general discount.

Out-of-pocket items

Meal copay, hair and beauty, snacks, programs, hygiene supplies, premium-room choice, and caregiver service are kept outside the base benefit rate. These items often explain why a family payment is higher than the official long-term-care copay.

Nursing hospitals are modeled differently from long-term-care nursing homes because health insurance and long-term-care insurance do not price them the same way. The page keeps those facility paths separate.

Planning horizon

The result includes first-year, three-year, and five-year projections because facility care is rarely a one-month decision. Home-care comparison can be included when the family is weighing facility admission against home services.

Actual eligibility depends on long-term-care grade determination, facility availability, local room pricing, meal policy, uncovered service agreement, and medical needs.
