This page translates the Korean ACL, PCL, multi-ligament, meniscus repair, and meniscectomy guide while preserving the same graft, fixation, cartilage-regeneration, admission, rehabilitation, private-insurance, and tax-credit formulas.

Procedure, graft, and fixation

The Korean model separates meniscectomy, meniscus repair, ACL reconstruction, PCL reconstruction, and multi-ligament reconstruction. Ligament reconstruction can use autograft or allograft, and only the applicable procedures add graft-related non-covered cost.

Fixation devices are modeled at KRW 250,000 each on a full-fee basis. Allograft adds KRW 1,800,000 when selected, and cartilage regeneration adds KRW 4,000,000 as a non-covered regenerative treatment. These items are preserved as explicit inputs because they are common sources of price differences.

Admission and insurance

The source calculation applies the covered surgery fee, fixation count, covered room fee, inpatient copay, upper-room cost, and rehabilitation visits before estimating indemnity reimbursement. Generation 5 excludes non-covered rehabilitation in the Korean model.

The English page therefore shows the patient payment before and after private insurance, not just the hospital invoice. Annual salary is used only for the same Korean medical expense tax-credit calculation.

Clinical context

A meniscus trim, meniscus repair, ACL reconstruction, and multi-ligament reconstruction can have very different rehabilitation time and return-to-sport timing. The Korean guide treats graft and cartilage options as medical-plan choices, not as automatic upgrades.

MRI findings, instability, locking, age, sport level, and combined cartilage damage should be reviewed before using the estimate as a budget target.
