Calls calculateWholeVsTerm with Korean term/whole assumptions, low-refund products, renewal premium schedule, BTID projection, annual tax deduction, and break-even analysis. This English finance calculator calls the same Korean pure calculation module as the Korean page. KRW, Korean statutory thresholds, tax rates, and product rules are preserved instead of the old generic percentage stub.

Whole life versus term life guide

This English guide translates the Korean whole life versus term life calculator. The calculator calls calculateWholeVsTerm to preserve premiums, renewal schedule, BTID, and surrender-value comparison.

Term life and whole life

Term life provides death coverage for a selected term and is usually cheaper for the same coverage amount. Whole life provides lifetime coverage and can build surrender value, but the monthly premium is much higher.

The page includes standard whole life and low-refund whole life assumptions. A low-refund product can reduce premium but may have very weak value if cancelled early.

Renewal and non-renewal

The Korean engine distinguishes renewable and non-renewable term contracts. A renewable policy can look cheap today, but renewal premiums can rise sharply as age increases.

A non-renewable term policy has a clearer fixed protection period, but coverage ends when the term ends. The calculator compares total premiums, monthly difference, and renewal premium path.

BTID and break-even year

BTID means buy term and invest the difference. The calculator projects the investment value of the premium gap and compares it with whole-life surrender value.

The result reports break-even year, efficiency ratio, recommendation reasons, and annual tax deduction. The better choice depends on coverage period, cancellation risk, and whether the household will actually invest the saved premium.
