Uses calcIndividualTreasuryBond with 3/5/10/20-year maturities, added-rate compounding, KRW 200 million separate-tax limit, 15.4% separate tax, and early-redemption loss rules. This English finance calculator calls the same Korean pure calculation module as the Korean page. KRW, Korean statutory thresholds, tax rates, and product rules are preserved instead of the old generic percentage stub.

Individual treasury bond guide

This English guide translates the Korean individual treasury bond calculator. The calculator calls calcIndividualTreasuryBond and keeps maturity, added rate, separate-tax, and early redemption formulas.

Maturity choices and applied rate

A Korean individual treasury bond can be issued in 3, 5, 10, and 20 years. The model calculates the applied rate as surface rate plus added rate when the bond is held to maturity.

The page compounds to maturity, reports gross maturity value, interest gross, bond tax, net maturity value, gross CAGR, net CAGR, and total return. The added rate is lost or reduced when the user redeems early.

Separate-tax condition

The Korean calculator preserves the KRW 200 million separate-tax purchase limit and the rule that separate-tax treatment generally applies only to 5 years or longer maturity held to maturity. Eligible interest is taxed at 15.4% separate taxation.

The content also preserves the 2027-12-31 sunset reference. Because separate-taxed interest can be excluded from ordinary comprehensive-tax aggregation, the result compares a general product against the individual treasury bond result.

Early redemption

Early redemption is modeled separately. The Korean engine calculates redeem interest, redeem tax, redeem net amount, redeem net CAGR, and loss versus holding to maturity.

This is important because the bond may look attractive at maturity but less attractive if the household may need cash before the planned term. The English page therefore keeps the redeem-year input visible.
