Korea dismissal notice and settlement calculator guide

This English page translates the Korean dismissal-notice and recommended-resignation settlement calculator. It calls calculateDismissalNoticePay, calculateSettlement, calculateTotalPayment, and calculateUnemploymentBenefit from the employment feature library.

Dismissal notice pay

The Korean notice-pay function accepts wage type, monthly wage, hourly wage, daily wage, weekly work hours, whether notice was given, actual notice days, service period, employment type, and exception reason. It returns hourly ordinary wage, daily ordinary wage, 30-day pay, shortfall days, notice pay amount, exception flag, and legal basis.

Notice pay is not always owed. The source includes exception reasons such as short service, certain daily or fixed-term cases, and fault or disaster. The English page keeps the same exception branch through the input object.

Recommended-resignation settlement

The settlement simulation uses monthly salary, service years and months, job position, company size, resignation reason, worker fault, and worker age. It calculates base months, adjustment factors, minimum amount, recommended amount, maximum amount, months range, and negotiation tips.

The output separates settlement from statutory severance and notice pay. That separation matters because a recommended-resignation agreement can include settlement money while statutory wage and severance claims remain distinct.

Total payment and unused leave

The total-payment function combines monthly salary, start date, end date, unused annual leave days, notice pay inclusion, settlement amount, and unpaid wages. It returns severance pay, unused leave allowance, notice pay, settlement amount, unpaid wages, gross total, estimated tax, net total, and itemized breakdown.

The English calculator therefore reports net total payout instead of simply adding severance to settlement. Taxes and unused leave can materially change the final received amount.

Unemployment benefit

The unemployment-benefit branch uses separation type, age, insurance period in months, average daily wage, and weekly work hours. It calculates eligibility, ineligibility reason, daily amount, benefit days, total benefit, monthly equivalent, and daily amount detail.

Actual benefit approval depends on Korea Employment Center review, insured-day records, involuntary separation evidence, and active job-search requirements. The calculator preserves the Korean page model for settlement planning.
