This English calculator calls the same pure tax calculation function used by the Korean page. Inputs and labels are translated; the formula is not replaced by a generic value-times-rate stub.

Regional health insurance premium calculator

This page translates the Korean regional health-insurance premium guide and preserves the 2026 income, property, rent-deposit, reduction, minimum, maximum, and long-term-care rules.

Income premium

The regional subscriber income premium applies the 7.19 percent health rate on annual premium income divided by 12. Business and other income are reflected at 100 percent, while earned income and public pension income are reflected at 50 percent.

Financial income is included only when annual interest and dividends exceed KRW 10 million. Below that threshold, the financial-income entry is excluded from the regional premium in the Korean model.

Property and rent deposit

Property premium starts with the property tax base plus 30 percent of jeonse or monthly-rent deposits. The calculator then subtracts the KRW 100 million property base deduction and looks up the remaining amount in the property score table.

Each property score is multiplied by the 2026 score-unit price of KRW 211.5. The Korean model also keeps the monthly minimum premium of KRW 20,160 and maximum premium of KRW 4,591,740.

Residence reductions

Residence reductions are applied after the raw health premium is clamped between the minimum and maximum. Rural residence uses a 22 percent reduction, while island or remote-area residence uses a 50 percent reduction.

Long-term care insurance is then added at 13.14 percent of the reduced health premium. This order matters because applying the reduction after long-term care would produce a different number.
