Drug and injection prices

The Korean source lists Avastin at about KRW 250,000 when non-covered. Lucentis is modeled at KRW 900,000 non-covered and KRW 580,000 insured. Eylea 2 mg is modeled at KRW 800,000 non-covered and KRW 700,000 insured, Eylea 8 mg at KRW 1,000,000 non-covered and KRW 800,000 insured, Vabysmo at KRW 950,000 non-covered and KRW 720,000 insured, and Beovu at KRW 800,000 non-covered and KRW 620,000 insured.

Injection procedure fees are kept separate: KRW 50,000 when insured and KRW 80,000 when non-covered. A premium examination option adds KRW 50,000 in the Korean calculation.

Special-case copay and covered injection limit

When wet macular degeneration qualifies for Korean special-case registration, the model uses a 10 percent special-case copay. Without that status, outpatient copays are applied by institution level: 30 percent, 40 percent, 50 percent, or 60 percent.

The Korean guide keeps the Eylea and Lucentis lifetime covered-injection limit at 14 injections. Repeated injections after the covered limit can change the annual patient burden sharply, which is why the calculator asks for injection count instead of showing one session only.
