Korea job-change decision calculator guide

This English page translates the Korean job-change decision simulator and calls calculateDecision. It preserves Korean net-pay calculation, social-insurance rates, income tax, total compensation, commute and work-hour effects, seven weighted dimensions, grade, advantage index, and advice generation.

Salary is converted to net pay

The calculator does not compare headline annual salary only. It calculates monthly gross pay, taxable monthly pay after non-taxable allowance, National Pension, Health Insurance, long-term care, employment insurance, income tax, local income tax, total deductions, monthly net pay, annual net pay, and total compensation.

Bonus, signing bonus, stock option value, dependents, children under 20, monthly tax-free amount, and tenure are part of the Korean input model. The English page keeps those fields in the constructed inputs even when the compact UI exposes only the main scenario controls.

Seven decision dimensions

The Korean model evaluates compensation, benefits, career growth, work-life balance, stability, commute, and culture. DEFAULT_WEIGHTS from the source give the relative importance of those dimensions.

The result includes current score, proposed score, weight, difference, and verdict for each dimension, plus current total, proposed total, advantage index, and grade. The English page summarizes those outputs without displaying Korean labels from the data table.

Commute and work-life factors

Weekly hours and commute minutes are part of the job input, so a higher salary offer can be weakened by longer working time or commute. Conversely, a moderate raise can become attractive if it improves work-life balance and career growth.

The Korean article frames job-change decisions as total-compensation and life-quality decisions rather than simple salary jumps. This English page follows that structure by showing net monthly difference and total-compensation difference side by side.

Decision grade caveats

Grades A through F are generated by the Korean feature library. They are planning signals, not automatic career advice. Contract clauses, probation risk, non-compete terms, stock vesting, relocation, and team fit still need separate review.

Because this page imports calculateDecision directly, English results stay aligned with the Korean page when tax rates, weights, or scoring rules are updated in the shared feature library.
