This page follows the Korean interior-cost calculator for pyeong, housing type, finish grade, construction scope, selected rooms, additional works, duration, labor, and practical quote strategy.

Cost drivers

The Korean calculator separates pyeong, finish grade, construction scope, selected spaces, and additional works. Costs reflect 2026 averages, and finish grade alone can create a 2 to 4 times difference between basic and luxury specifications.

Partial interior work can save 40 to 60 percent compared with a full renovation when the structure and utilities are already acceptable. Standard spec products can save 20 to 30 percent compared with custom or imported materials.

Schedule and seasonality

Full renovation usually moves from design quote for 1 to 2 weeks, demolition for 3 to 5 days, utilities for 1 to 2 weeks, carpentry and masonry for 1 to 2 weeks, tile and waterproofing for 1 week, painting and wallpaper for 3 to 5 days, flooring for 2 to 3 days, kitchen furniture for 2 to 3 days, sanitary fixtures for 1 to 2 days, and final cleanup for 2 to 3 days.

A 20 to 30 pyeong full interior usually needs 4 to 6 weeks, 30 to 40 pyeong needs 6 to 8 weeks, and 40 pyeong or more can need 8 to 14 weeks. Partial work often takes 1 to 3 weeks. Off-season June-July and December-February can reduce labor cost by 10 to 15 percent, while March-May and September-November are peak seasons.

Quote and financing discipline

The Korean guide recommends at least 3 on-site quotes, not only phone estimates. Quotes should separate demolition, utilities, carpentry, tile, bath, kitchen, flooring, wallpaper, fixtures, waste, and contingency so scope creep is visible.

Interior loans may reach KRW 50 million, and the Korean reference interest range for 2026 is 3.5 to 6.5 percent. Self interior can save 20 to 30 percent, but electrical, plumbing, waterproofing, gas, and structural work require professionals.
