Average Wage and Minimum Standard

  • The Korean calculation uses a three-month wage basis for average daily wage.
  • The 2026 minimum compensation daily wage in the Korean model is KRW 80,240, based on KRW 10,030 minimum hourly wage x 8 hours.
  • The applied daily wage is the larger of the worker average daily wage and the minimum compensation daily wage.

Can I receive both industrial accident benefits and civil damages?

Possibly, but overlapping compensation is deducted. The Korean model estimates net civil recovery after deducting industrial accident compensation.

Does commute accident always qualify?

No. Ordinary commute accidents can qualify, but route deviation, private errands, or non-work-related conduct can affect recognition.
