Hearing aid cost and benefit calculator

This page translates the Korean hearing-aid cost guide for device grade, one ear or both ears, age group, hearing-disability registration, subscriber type, product benefit, fitting-management benefit, local subsidy, tax credit, and 5-year replacement cycle.

Benefit structure

Hearing-aid benefit standard is KRW 1,310,000 over five years in the Korean source. The product benefit cap is KRW 910,000, and the fitting-management benefit total is KRW 400,000.

The fitting-management benefit is split into KRW 200,000 at initial fitting and KRW 50,000 per year for four later years. The calculator separates upfront support from later fitting support so the first payment is not confused with the 5-year total.

The reissue cycle is five years. A replacement, loss, or repair situation should be checked against the official timing rule and the seller or insurer documentation.

Eligibility and supported ears

Normal National Health Insurance support rate is 90 percent, while low-income and Medical Aid support rate is 100 percent in this model. The benefit applies only when hearing-disability registration and approved purchase documentation are satisfied.

Adults are modeled as supported for one ear, while minors under age 19 can be supported for both ears when both ears are selected. The second adult ear remains self-pay in the calculator.

Planning interpretation

The result shows purchase total, product benefit, fitting support, local subsidy, tax refund estimate, final cost, installment view, grade comparison, recommendation, and warnings.

Use the estimate with an otolaryngology hearing test, disability registration review, official benefit product list, fitting contract, local subsidy notice, and aftercare plan.
