This calculator compares shared e-scooters, privately owned e-scooters, electric bicycles, and public transit for short-distance mobility. It converts usage frequency, distance, charging cost, maintenance, insurance, depreciation, and transit passes into monthly and annual cost.

It is especially useful when you often take a shared scooter for the last mile and want to know whether buying your own device has already become cheaper.

Cost structure and break-even logic

Shared scooter and ownership cost

  • Shared scooters generally combine a base unlock fee of KRW 500 to KRW 1,000 with a per-minute fee of KRW 150 to KRW 200.
  • A privately owned electric scooter is modeled around KRW 300,000 to KRW 1,500,000 depending on brand and performance.
